MISSION STATEMENT
ON THE DOT is a feminist collective and distro located in New Brunswick, NJ that aims to cultivate a feminist network in and around our city’s DIY community. We are a group of womyn with diverse backgrounds and interests, who intend to organize with other womyn in the community, in order to establish safer spaces and support the various artistic endeavors of our community members.
Our mission as ON THE DOT/ GIRL GANG GIG NEW BRUNSWICK is to break these behaviors and oppressions by:
·Empowering womyn to showcase their music, art, and/or writing through workshops and discussions
·Creating and fostering the supportive networks we desire
·Cultivating safer spaces for ALL members of the New Brunswick community
·Educating members of the community on how to break their institutionalized oppressions by creating dialogues concerning issues of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.
·Confronting all forms of oppression in our surrounding community
·Benefiting and building coalitions
